CHAPTER SUMMARY:

After a disastrous first night at Bourbon Street Boarding, Lucas wakes up determined to turn things around— starting with finding a job. But between the tension with Kaleb and the growing mystery of Carter’s tape, it’s easier said than done.

Lucas sets out for a grueling day of job interviews, facing one rejection after another.

Meanwhile, his cassette player is still broken, leaving Carter’s story— and its unsettling hints about his fate— on pause.

In a last-ditch effort, Lucas stops by B-Side Records, a local shop that Kaleb mentioned. The owner, August (Chris Renfro), offers to fix the tape player and— unexpectedly— a job. After some hesitation, Lucas decides to take the offer, securing his first foothold in the city.

That night, Lucas discovers a hidden stash of Carter’s tapes in his closet, revealing more about Carter’s journey. As he starts to listen, he’s reminded that starting over is never easy— but sometimes, the best way forward is to embrace the unknown.
